Wow. The Bush White House is SAD. The approval ratings for the worst President in U.S. History are around 25 percent, the lowest ever for a President since polling began in the 1930's. Boo-friggin'-hoo, Georgie. Git' along you dumb old dogie.
"Everybody kind of wanted to spend the last 100-plus days doing some legacy things, and the financial crisis has thrown a wrench into that," said one prominent Republican who regularly talks with senior White House officials.
"You have a combination of no legacy stuff, a horrible economic mess and the likelihood that Obama is going to win," this person added. "There is a real sadness there."
Still, after all this complete buffoon has done TO this country, completely eviscerating the constitution, lying us into war, eliminating environmnental laws for his oil pals, cutting regulations for financial institutions and oh boy there's more. Torture and frankly, a United States that has a much lower position in the world becasue of what this one man and his neo-con wrecking crew have done.
Ari Fleischer, one of Bush's former press secretaries, said that although Bush is "not prone to talk about legacy," he and his closest advisers are confident that history "will remember him well."
"Would he like to be more popular?" Fleischer added. "Of course he would. Of course it bugs him. But it doesn't guide him or drive him."
Ari: I have news for you. NOBODY IS GOING TO REMEMBER BUSH WELL. Especially when they convene the war crimes tribunal at the Hague and he is sitting in a cell for the rest of his life, chained to his commander, Dick Cheney. Plus, I hope it bugs the shit out of him that we dont' like him. I would like to think that he even thought of us, you know, Americans. Sadly, I don't believe he does. Here's what Bushie said:
"I said, 'You know, I'm not going to change as a person because of politics or Washington' -- that's what I said when I left," Bush said. "I think they appreciate that. I want them to know that, you know, even though I had to deal with a lot of tough issues, that I'm still the same person that they knew before and that, you know, I'm wiser, more experienced, but my heart and my values didn't change."
Who's THEY, Georgie? If THEY is me, I think you should be DAMNED sad. I think you should hang your sorry head in shame at what you have done. Obviously, Bush has never understood that we do not like him, do not respect him and believe that he has a great deal of responsibility for this economic crisis, the view the world has of us and the fact that for eight years, Bush has just ignored global climate issues, so his good buddies could evade the EPA.
I just hope that Obama can get in there and prevent him from signing anything. I wouldn't put anything past these nefarious neo-cons.
And, one last thing, because this is such a tense time. I posted this earlier, but it was late at night. Here's a REAL hockey Mom, singing about Sarah Palin...George Bush with half the brain cells and pink lipstick. She has a great voice, and this is a TREAT.
